Terms of Service

Welcome to Dataloom, a product of Tech Mage (Pty) Ltd. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

1. About Us

Dataloom is operated by Tech Mage (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. References to “Dataloom”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in these Terms of Service refer to Tech Mage (Pty) Ltd.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Dataloom, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

3. Use of Service

Dataloom provides a no-code platform for building REST APIs from database connections. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Data Protection & GDPR (Data Processing Addendum)

Both parties will comply with applicable data-protection law, including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). How we handle the account and usage data for which we are the controller is described in our Privacy Policy. The terms in this section apply where you connect a data source or otherwise submit data that contains personal data ("Customer Personal Data"), and form a Data Processing Addendum between us.

  • Roles. You are the controller of Customer Personal Data and Dataloom is your processor.
  • Instructions. We process Customer Personal Data only to provide the service and on your documented instructions, unless required otherwise by law.
  • Confidentiality. Our personnel who access Customer Personal Data are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Security. We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption of database credentials at rest, anonymisation of logged IP addresses, and access controls.
  • Sub-processors. You authorise our use of the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy. We remain responsible for them and will give notice of any intended changes so you can object.
  • Assistance. Taking into account the nature of processing, we will assist you in responding to data-subject requests and in meeting your security, breach-notification and impact-assessment obligations.
  • Deletion & return. On termination or your request, we will delete or return Customer Personal Data, subject to any retention required by law.
  • Audits. We will make available information reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with Article 28 GDPR and allow for audits as required by law.

A separate, signable Data Processing Agreement is available on request at hello@dataloom.cloud.

6. Intellectual Property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Dataloom and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

Dataloom shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service.

8. AI Assistant Connectors (MCP)

Dataloom supports integrations with third-party AI assistants (such as Claude) via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). When you authorize an AI assistant to connect to a workspace, you grant that assistant the ability to call your published Dataloom endpoints on your behalf, scoped to the workspace you select at the time of authorization. Calls made by an authorized assistant are treated as your actions under these terms.

AI assistants operate under their own provider's terms of service and privacy policy. Dataloom is not responsible for the behaviour of any AI assistant, including the prompts it generates, the conclusions it draws from your data, or any further use of data the assistant receives. You are responsible for evaluating whether to authorize a given assistant and for the consequences of doing so.

If the workspace you authorize contains data belonging to other users, your organisation, or third parties, you represent that you have the authority to expose that data to the assistant you connect. You agree to revoke an assistant's access from Settings → MCP if your authority to expose the workspace's data ends.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dataloom disclaims liability for damages arising from data exposed to, modified by, or acted upon by an AI assistant you have authorized, save where such damages result from our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the service.
